CONSULTANTS BREAKFAST

The 15th Annual Renkus-Heinz Consultants’ Breakfast was packed, as usual, and featured three excellent and tought-provoking presentations.

•     Steve Bassett - Low Latency CobraNet, Network Design Issues And Current Industry Support
Steve Bassett is the CobraNet Marketing Manager with Cirrus Logic, the creators and manufacturers of CobraNet networked digital audio technology. Steve graduated from Purdue University with a BSEE and holds an MS in Management of Technology. Over his 20-year career in the semiconductor industry, Steve has managed a wide range of IC products targeted at DSP, data storage, data networking and data conversion.

•     Stefan Feistel - Interfacing Prediction And Measurement Software With Audio Networks
Dipl.-Phys. Stefan Feistel received his Master’s degree in Theoretical Physics from Humboldt University in Berlin in 2004. He is a co-founder of Ahnert / Feistel Media Group and the CEO of Software Design Ahnert, which develops EASE, EASERA and other software tools that have brought precise calculations and scientific rigor to the acoustical professions. Like you, Mr. Feistel has observed the industry-wide shift towards integrated audio networks. He will outline the benefits of planning, configuring, verifying and controlling networked systems using modern prediction and measurement software. We’ll learn how seamless hardware/software communication makes it possible to transfer filter settings and mechanical data, and the importance of tuning and monitoring large-scale loudspeaker systems using concurrent measuring tools.

•     Craig Janssen - Loudspeakers, Echoes & Other Things That Go Bump In The Night
I’m not 100% sure where Craig Janssen is going with this title, but we can all be sure of an informative and forward-looking presentation. You probably know that Craig heads the Worship and Sports divisions of Acoustic Dimensions, a consulting firm with over 40 employees. With more than 20 years of experience in electro-acoustic systems for difficult spaces, Craig is regularly consulted by major loudspeaker manufacturers on the development of new products. He holds a patent on low frequency directional control technology he developed to solve problems encountered in many production spaces.
